HOW TEACHERS CAN USE THIS STORY RETELLING PROJECT:
When you are working on this skill, you can use the story retelling project as part of your small group instruction. I suggest that students practice with a familiar text first to learn the story retelling process. Once finished, these projects can easily be displayed for students to recommend books to each other or hung in the hallway. You can also use the pieces in interactive notebooks if you prefer to use the story retelling project with another text later on.
