Verdi by Janell Cannon Paired Texts Activities Book Study Mentor Text

Verdi by Janell Cannon is a great choice for paired text studies. Kids may be scared of snakes, but they sure do love learning about them. I use Verdi and pair it with snake research. We had the best time pulling facts from the story and exploring other breeds of snakes too.

HOW DO TEACHERS USE THIS VERDI UNIT?

This unit includes before/during/after activities to accompany the book. Teachers can pick and choose which resources to use in order to match their standards. The activities are listed below, and the unit focus is on comprehension and writing. I suggest using it with whole group mentor text lessons, in small group guided reading lessons, for book clubs, or for stations. Also keep in mind that you get this resource in B/W and Color (Google Slides TM)!
