In the classroom, I loved using Cynthia Rylant’s books in the fall. My author study includes 10 of her titles and each book companion comes with before, during, and after activities for various comprehension skills. I used the lapbook as a culminating project for the author study, and it was fun for the students to analyze author’s craft through it’s completion.
