Need a fun winter project to display in your hallway? This mitten shaped book review will help your students share their favorite books with others. Students record the title and author, describe and illustrate their favorite scene, share who should read their book choice, and summarize the text. The finished shape books should be strung on a clothes line in a place where all students can check them out for the purpose of getting ideas for future independent reading. Kids want to read what other kids are reading!

HOW TEACHERS CAN USE THIS MITTEN SHAPED BOOK REVIEW:

This resource works great as a center, in conjunction with mitten themed books, and as a winter display for the hallway. I highly recommend that teachers use these as a preparation for book talks in the classroom. Included with this project is a recording sheet students can use for active listening and for recording books they want to read in the future.
