Description
Mercy Watson to the Rescue is a must read with every second grader, and this resources provides before, during, and after activities to keep your students engaged with this wonderful text. Students will get to know author Kate DiCamillo, a favorite for many while practicing key literacy skills. The activities in this unit are aligned to the Common Core as well as VSOLs and come in both PDF and Google Slides TM. The Google Slides TM copy link is on page three of the PDF file.

HOW CAN TEACHERS USE THE MERCY WATSON TO THE RESCUE RESOURCE?
The materials included are varied and provide higher level thinking skill practice. You do not have to use the pages in order. You can pick and choose which best fit your timeline. Some organizers can be used with other Mercy Watson books as well. I suggest putting some of the activities into your literacy centers, using some with small groups, and some for modeling. Your kids will enjoy the books so much, and my hope is that having the activities on hand will make planning easy.
