You are headed back to school and need an author study. Kevin Henkes is a favorite author of most primary teachers. This author study includes before, during, and after activities for FIVE of Kevin Henkes’ best books. Each of the units focuses on comprehension skills that tie nicely to the books for close reading.
WHAT TITLES ARE FEATURED IN THIS KEVIN HENKES AUTHOR STUDY?
The titles include:

- Wemberly Worried.
Each unit includes 20-30 pages of material for a total of 134 pages. The activities are organized in a before, during, and after format.

This is a well planned resource and very practical. It is a little beyond the first grade level for the most part though and I have to modify many of the activities to suit their needs. I would begin to use it in second grade or even higher.
