Wednesday Wow Linky

Happy New Year from Comprehension Connection! Today, I am linking up today with my friend, Emily at Curious Firsties.  She's a fellow reading blogger, and we've become friends through several collaborative efforts. Read on to learn more about our newest effort.

Today begins a wonderful adventure.  2014 is going to be a busy, busy year with many things to look forward to.  The first is that my oldest will be graduating from high school and learning where he will be going to college.  It is just so exciting, and we're very proud of him. When we took senior pictures, it was a good time for a family picture too.  So here's a glimpse at my family (all cleaned up...LOL!)

Now, on to another wow.  This wow is happening very, very in five days!  Emily and I have teamed up with 18 other reading specialists and literacy coaches to create a collaborative blog called Adventures in Literacy Land. The beauty of this is that many heads are better than one, and in this case, we also have many years of experience at many different levels and from many different regions of the world. We come from Queensland, Australia, Louisiana, Arizona, Missouri, Massachusetts, California, and from right here in Virginia to name a few.  We also specialize in different reading strands...emergent readers, phonemic awareness and phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing and from Pre-K to Middle School.

During our kick-off week, each of us will be sharing a freebie with our introductory posts and offering a chance at great gift certificates to Teachers Pay Teachers.  Drop by each day to increase your chances at the prizes.  If you'd like to catch a sneak-peek, click the badge below.

Another wow for today is that this is the last day of my 15% off sale. Yesterday, I offered a BOGO sale on my Facebook page, and today I am offering it on my blog.  If you make a purchase today only, I will email you a single title book unit of your choice of equal or less value.  All you need to do is email me at with your TPT user name, list of what you purchased, and the name of the book unit you would like to receive as your freebie.  Now that is a WOW!!

I will close this post by wishing you lots of Wows in 2014.  Thanks for following my little blog and for supporting me in sharing my passion for literacy.  I hope we all grow as teachers and pass our love of teaching and learning on to our little people this year.  Until next time, happy reading!
