Fourth of July Blog Hop

Happy 4th of July to all of you in blogland, and welcome to our 4th of July Blog Hop!  We have so many reasons to celebrate this weekend, and as we think about our country's history, we have another opportunity to pay tribute to those who have provided and protected our freedom.  I'd love to give a shout out to my cousin, Chad, who was deployed two times to South Korea and Iraq; my nephew, Brett, who was deployed two times to Iraq and Afghanistan; and to my niece, Melanie, who was deployed to Iraq. Their time abroad was certainly challenging, and I appreciate their sacrifice to protect and defend.

As I was thinking of what I could share with this hop, the first book to pop in my mind was Revolutionary War on Wednesday by Mary Pope Osborne since I've been working on a few of the Magic Treehouse books.  (Aren't they wonderful?)  I just finished this unit, and so I decided to share a modified version to give you an idea of how the unit looks.  You can use these six pages with any Revolutionary War book or as part of your social studies unit. Click on the image below to download the preview set.

The complete unit includes 24 pages and is available on Teachers Pay Teachers at 50% off during the blog hop only, so if you're a Magie Treehouse fan or simply wish to add to your Revolutionary War theme, you might take advantage of the deal.  All other items are 20% off this weekend only. Just click on the preview below.

To hear about future blog hops and other happenings on my blog, you can become a follower using the Bloglovin link below.  I enjoy sharing tips and materials for any ELA need.
Before you hop away,  as an added bonus, all of the participating bloggers have 'pooled their cash' to purchase 4 $25 TpT gift certificates and 1 $10 Target gift card!

The first four selected will receive the TpT gift certificates and the 5th winner will receive the Target gift card!
