Things I Love

Two posts in one day!  I just had to link up with Molly at Lucky to Be in First for her Lucky to Be in Love linky.  I thought this would give me a chance to show a little about me.  It will be a quick read since it will be mostly pictures.

First up is my sweet husband, Joe.  We've been married 23 years, and it seems like it was just yesterday.  We've made lots of great memories through the years, and we've had lots of fun along the way.  (and I don't mind that he messes up the top of my dresser with his clutter!)
Next come these two crazy kids...Sam and Catherine.  They keep us on our toes and busy with all of their activities.  We wouldn't have it any other way.

When I'm not cleaning up after these two messy sweet children, I'm taking care of their my our dog.  She is as sweet as she looks in this picture, and she's lucky to be alive.  We adopted her from a family on Craigslist (Never adopt a dog through Craigslist!!!)  She was sick with heartworms and needed all of her shots when we brought her home, *but* she's healthy now. :-)

I mentioned already that I love teaching my students, but I couldn't do that without great literature.  I love sharing all of the wonderful picture books (fiction and nonfiction) and great novels with my students.  I think in my former life I must have been a librarian because I just love the smell, feel, and look of a brand new book.

Finally, I love blogging.  I have really enjoyed sharing and learning from the friends I've made. It's been one wonderful adventure.  I love learning new tricks with technology, and we've had so much fun trading ideas and building on each other's strengths.  I know if I have a question or need help with something I am teaching, all I have to do is consult with my blogging buddies in The Reading Crew, Blogging Buddies, and Adventures in Literacy Land.  Someone will have the answer.

What are you in love with?  I hope you will take this weekend to enjoy your loves, and until next time...happy reading!  (my last love!)

    1. Do not...I repeat...Do *not* enter Ollie's if you have one near you. I am addicted. I just saw one the other day that I past up, and naturally, I just saw a teaching idea for it! Ugh!

  4. I'm so glad Molly is healthy now. She looks adorable! I adopted Millie as well, but I got her from an animal shelter. It's amazing how quickly they become part of the family!

As far as books go... One of my students once commented, "Wow! Amazon must love you!" I can't help it. I love books! :)

    1. Yep...I think Ollie's feels that way about me. The manager of the book department even commented not long ago that she'd noticed me scanning the shelves (for Patricia Polacco of course!) :-) Yes...Molly is healthy now, but when the weather changes, arthritis from mistreatment hurts her. Makes me sad that 1...someone mistreated her like that and 2...we were taken advantage of. She is well cared for now.
