Winter Warm Up Wednesday

As I sat down to write up this post, I could not think of what to title it.  It is about a hodgepodge of things, but "Hodgepodge of Things" didn't seem like the right title.  Thought about Wishy Washy Wednesday...you might have gotten excited about a Mrs. Wishy Washy freebie when really I would be referring to myself instead. So since all of the items I'm sharing about tonight are about winter, this seemed to work.  So it's a Winter Warm-up because we're warming up for a huge Facebook Frenzy this weekend.  Each month, it is getting bigger and bigger.  This time, there are 6 grades divided up in two sections each...ELA/SS and Math/Science, Clipart, and Music, so there's definitely something for everyone.  I've linked the button below to my Facebook page, but I've also included a listing of the group order for my group in case I have 3rd grade level fans.  The unit I am sharing for the Frenzy is a recently published book.  You will not want to miss this download because the book is so touching and beautiful, but I am going to leave the title a surprise.  If you're resourceful though, you might look back at old posts and figure it out.

Another Winter Warm Up is this cute unit I just uploaded tonight.  The book, Snow by Cynthia Rylant, is another classic Cythina Rylant read.  Let me just say that I wish we could learn to write like her just from reading her books.  My goodness we would be geniuses.  This book would be great paired with other winter books like The Mitten or Owl Moon. I can see sharing both and looking for similar writing styles as all three of these books are so descriptive about winter.  The focus of the unit is on using text details to visualize, cause and effect relationships, making comparisons, questioning, and writing.  Here's a glimpse at the unit.  I have it listed for $3.50 in my store.
Finally, I have a Giveaway in progress.  It will be ending on Monday.  The prize for this one is a $25.00 gift certificate to Teachers Pay Teachers plus your choice of any three items from my store which could include bundles.  I have met several milestones...500 Bloglovin Fans, almost 1500 Facebook Fans, and 750 store followers.  It just blows me away!  I have really enjoyed entering the blogging world and meeting so many great educators and fellow reading specialists, so thank you so much for exchanging ideas with me and sharing your love for reading and teaching.  If you'd like to enter the drawing, you can choose how below. Good luck!

Now, don't forget to visit my Facebook page starting Friday.  I will share the other links to starting places once they are posted.  Until next time, happy reading and good night!
